Thaicom 5 is a Thai geostationary communications satellite. The 2.8 tonne (with fuel) triaxially-stabilized craft will provide television and internet services to the Asia-Pacific region through its 25 C-band and 14 Ku-band transponders after parking over 78.5? E longitude. It will replace the aging Thaicom 1 and Thaicom 2 satellites that were launched in 1993 and 1994.
