QPS-SAR-11 (NORAD ID 64340) is a low-Earth-orbit satellite equipped with a synthetic aperture radar (SAR) system. In essence, it’s an Earth observation platform designed to collect high-resolution imagery regardless of weather conditions or daylight. By actively “illuminating” the surface and measuring the reflected radar signals, it can produce detailed images useful for applications such as environmental monitoring, disaster response, and security. Though often briefed as part of a growing constellation of SAR satellites, QPS-SAR-11 represents an example of modern remote-sensing technology that enhances our ability to monitor and understand terrestrial events in near-real time.
