Comments: Vinasat 1 is a Vietnamese geostationary communications satellite that was launched by an Ariane 5 ECA rocket from Kourou at 22:17 UT on 18 April 2008. The 2.6 tonne (with fuel) craft carries 12 Ku-band, and eight C-band transponders to provide voice, video, and internet services to eastern Asia, India, Australia, Japan, and Hawaii after parking over 132° E longitude.
