Astra aims to reach orbit on third try The private space company Astra plans its third orbital launch attempt from Alaska as soon as Friday, using a relatively compact two-stage launcher sized to haul small satellites into space. The mission’s launch window opens at 5 p.m. EDT (12 p.m. Alaska time; 2100 GMT) Friday. If the mission doesn’t launch Friday, Astra has clearance to launch the mission through Sept. 11.   More
