Japanese Company Plans Satellite to Create Shooting Stars on Demand

A Japanese company aiming to create shooting stars in the upper atmosphere for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo has now unveiled its lofty commercial aspirations. Astro Live Experiences (ALE) is touting its plans to launch a satellite into low-Earth orbit, where it will release small metal fragments that will create fiery streaks in the sky as they burn up in the atmosphere for customers to watch from the ground.
