NASA awards satellite launches to ULA, SpaceX

NASA today awarded SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket its first launch of a U.S. government science satellite and booked three more missions aboard a United Launch Alliance rocket that appeared near retirement. All the missions are scheduled to launch from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California between 2014 and 2016. Denver-based ULA's missions will take advantage of its remaining inventory of workhorse Delta II rockets, believed to have launched from the Cape for the final time last September. More
