Orb-3 mission from Va. to space station set for Oct. 24

The third operational mission from Virginia to deliver supplies to the International Space Station has a new launch date: Oct. 24. Rocket-maker Orbital Sciences announced Wednesday that its Antares rocket is set to lift off from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport (MARS) on Wallops Island at 7:52 p.m., boosting a Cygnus cargo spacecraft to the orbiting science lab. The mission, called Orb-3, had been set for Oct. 14. The Antares is a medium-lift rocket whose launches are visible throughout Hampton Roads and the Mid-Atlantic, weather permitting. More
