SpaceX launches Crew-12 astronauts to short-staffed International Space Station. 'We have left the Earth, but the Earth has not left us.' A quartet of astronauts have reached orbit and are on their way to support the skeleton crew of three left behind after the first-ever medical evacuation from the International Space Station (ISS). SpaceX launched the Crew-12 mission this morning here from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, sending four astronauts to the ISS for an eight-month stay. The Crew Dragon "Freedom" lifted off atop a Falcon 9 rocket from Space Launch Complex-40 (SLC-40) at 5:15 a.m. EST (1015 GMT) this morning (Feb. 13), carrying NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway, European Space Agency (ESA) astronaut Sophie Adenot and Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev into low Earth orbit.   More
