SpaceX nearing commercial satellite launch

SpaceX nearing commercial satellite launch If schedules hold, SpaceX late next Friday will attempt to launch a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral for the second time in 16 days. The mission to launch two commercial communications satellites follows the company’s Feb. 11 launch of a space weather satellite into deep space science for the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration and NASA. Liftoff from Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station is targeted for 11:01 p.m. Friday, the opening of a window that extends to 11:46 p.m., according to the Air Force’s 45th Space Wing. The satellites owned by Eutelsat and Asia Broadcast Satellite, or ABS, are bound for geosynchronous orbits more than 22,000 miles over the equator.   More
