HIROGARI is a 2U size CubeSat developed by Osaka Prefecture University and Muroran Institute of Technology. The satellite demostrates: (1) High-speed data transmission, using Reed-Solomon encoding and convolutional processing with error correction capability, in the amateur radio band which enable amateur radio satellites to communicate more efficiently, and (2) A deployment structure based on the “Miura-ori” folding method, and an optical surface measurement system that uses two-dimensional grid for the first time in space. This experiment could benefit the future deployment systems in space.
